Rantings from a conservative wacko
On another message board that I am a moderator of, www.CelticRadio.net, there is a forum for discussing politics, which as you know can be a very hot button topic. There is one conservative there who I, along with several other liberals who post there, have given up trying to reason with. I just got tired of wasting my breath (so to speak).
This guy believes in the Lee Atwater credos of "Go Negative Early" and "Never Back Down", particularly when it comes to the so-called (and very much debunked) "liberal media bias" and "the shameful state of our public school system".
Here are copies of some of his latest paranoid rantings:
It is my personal belief that this bill, even if Sonny Perdue signs it, would not stand up in court because it violates the US Constitution.
We all know voter fraud is rampant on both sides. Republicans charge that Democrats vote more than once ("vote early, vote often"). Democrats respond that Republicans illegally purge registered voters and deliberately mislead minorities by telling them either the wrong election date (often the day after Election Day) or to go to the wrong polling place.
But try telling a Republican this. They think their poop don't stink.

Notice how this person said "Photo ID". No such language was contained in that bill in the the Georgia legislature. There is something going on in both the Georgia House and Senate.
- "Governor Perdue, don't sign this bill!!!!"
- "a disaster for race relations in the State of Georgia."
- "spitting on the grave of Martin Luther King, Jr."
- "It's an attack on the rights of minorities."
So, what's going on? Well, it seems that both the Georgia House and Senate have passed bills requiring all voters to show some kind of picture ID before they can cast a vote. Any one of six different types of picture ID will do: any state or federal photo ID card, any governmental employee photo ID card, a valid United States passport, a vaild military photo identification card, and a valid tribal identification card with photo. A driver's license will also work, even if it is expired. The law provides for free state-issued picture IDs for anyone who wants one.
The key phrase here is "picture ID". Georgia will no longer allow fishing licenses, utility bills, bank statements, and birth certificates as valid identifications.

Can someone tell me why requiring some documentation identifying the voter with a photograph would be such a terrible thing for minorities? It is only the liberals in Georgia that are fighting this bill, so maybe a liberal here can enlighten me. Isn't it to everyone's best interest to curb voter fraud? How can a photo ID requirement be compared to the old Jim Crow laws?
